Our Story

At Little Walters Flower Farm, our journey from a dream to a thriving urban flower farm in College Park, Maryland has been nothing short of remarkable. It all began in the late winter of 2020 when Lisa and Steve, two passionate nature enthusiasts, embarked on a mission to bring the beauty of growing flowers and food to the local community. Armed with knowledge gained from years of gardening, workshops, classes, and a deep appreciation for sustainability, they transformed their a small urban yard into a vibrant oasis.

Over 80% of cut flowers sold in the United States are not grown here. As a family who is invested in sustainable development we felt it important to influence change and encourage others to grow their own flowers and food. Lisa’s vision gradually took shape, and Little Walters Flower Farm has become a go to place for the community to purchase locally grown flowers. Today, with our commitment to sustainable growing practices, we proudly provide the freshest, most exquisite flowers to our customers, reminding them of the beauty that can flourish in the midst of an urban environment.

Why is the farm named Little Walter? Lisa and Steve have two amazing mini Goldendoodles who are the heart of the farm. Their names are Walter and Lillian (Lil Lil is her nickname. The word little was close to it). Walter is the farm manager and sniffs every bloom making sure they are top quality. Lillian is head of pest management and makes sure all creatures know the rules.
